About
Our History
The On-Ti-Ora Chapter NSDAR was admitted to the National Society on April 10, 1926 and the first meeting was held at the Trustee’s Room of the Catskill Public Library with thirteen chapter members.
Mrs. Nash, retiring State Regent, who organized the chapter suggested our name, On-Ti-Ora, meaning “Mountains in the Sky”.
Officers were: Regent Jessie Vedder, Vice Regent Minnie Davis, Treasurer Ruth Fowks, Registrar Jennie Mangnam, Historian Frances Hedges, and Secretary Jennie Persons.
